What is coaching?

Coaching is defined as "partnering with clients in a thought provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential" (Williams and Menendez, 2015).  Coaching includes dynamic questioning, active listening, and thought-inspiring activities that have the potential to unlock hidden "possibilities".  These possibilities can become the key to help clients deepen their learning, improve their performance, and enhance the quality of their life.

Why hire Stephanie as your coach?

I understand.  I know what it feels like to be "stuck" in my circumstances.  Furthermore, I know what being in the pit of despair/fear/grief feels like.  I know what it's like to have the desire to move forward, but can't seem to make the first step.  Standing at the crossroads and not knowing which way to turn seemed like I was at a dead end.  I have lived in a world that had lost its color.  I understand what it takes to change my mindset and begin to see possibilities and colors and experience life again.

Because of these experiences, I desire to help individuals who feel "stuck" in their current circumstances, situations, relationships, and/or mindset.  When partnering with me, clients will begin to discover their balance, develop resiliency, assess their mindset, and become inspired to move forward on their own path toward becoming their "best self".  I am a Board Certified Coach with expertise in psychology, behavior management, resilience development, and life.  I am also a Purpose Clarity Certified Coach and can assist you in finding your purpose in life.

What are topics coaching may focus on?

The focus of coaching depends on the client...what and where the client wants to focus attention.  Possible topics may include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Learning to thrive in the midst of grief, despair, stress, anxiety, turmoil
  • Developing resilience
  • Setting and attaining meaningful goals
  • Recognizing and managing stress
  • Finding one's meaning and purpose
  • Growing personally and/or professionally
  • Determining ways of living mindfully
  • Discovering rest and balance in a busy world

How is coaching conducted?

Coaching is typically conducted over the phone; however, may be conducted in person and/or through email, if desired.
